Valentino Rossi hopes to return to the racetrack at the Czech Grand Prix in August, the injured MotoGP champion said in a Yamaha statement.
The 31-year-old Italian (pictured) added that he was happy with the pace of his recovery after breaking a leg at his home grand prix three weeks ago.
"I am walking with crutches and since a few days I've been able to put my foot to the floor," he said.

"Honestly, I didn't expect to feel this good just a few weeks after the incident, and I mean both physically and in my spirit.'
Rossi said he missed the MotoGP paddock, had been able to leave his house and was using a hyperbaric chamber and doing some exercises in the gym.
"Unfortunately my shoulder is still giving me some pain but I am working on the muscles to reduce the pain a bit," added the rider, whose Spanish team mate Jorge Lorenzo has won the last two races and now enjoys a 47 point lead.
"If the rehabilitation proceeds without trouble and if everything continues in this way, then my objective is to return at the Czech Grand Prix in Brno," Rossi said.
